• Resumo Summary

  O Projeto Temático FAPESP "Iniciativa Global Sustainable Bioenergy (GSB) - Análise ambiental e espacial da intensificação da pastagem para a bioenergia" abre um processo seletivo para bolsa de pós-doutorado com o título "Agave (CAM) plant modeling".
  
  Trata-se de um Projeto Temático de três anos que faz parte da iniciativa GSB, com foco em análise geoespacial em escala global relacionada à bioenergia. O projeto é liderado pelo pesquisador John Sheehan no contexto do programa São Paulo Excellence Chair (SPEC). 
  
  O pós-doutorando irá liderar o trabalho de modelagem de agave na escala global, sob a supervisão do Dr. John Sheehan (São Paulo Excellence Chair, Unicamp), em colaboração com o Dr. Steve Long e o Dr. David LeBauer (Universidade de Illinois), no desenvolvimento de um modelo para agave como representação de plantas com Metabolismo Ácido das Crassuláceas (CAM).
   
  O pós-doutorando será responsável por incorporar o novo modelo ao BioCro,— uma plataforma de modelagem global para bioenergia desenvolvida pelo Dr. Steve Long da Universidade de Illinois,— e por utilizar o modelo para simular produtividade de plantas CAM em escala global. 
  
  Requisitos do candidato 
  a) Doutoramento na área de biologia vegetal. 
  b) Experiência de trabalho com a plataforma de modelagem global de bioenergia BioCro é desejável.
  c) Conhecimentos de programação em MATLAB, R e/ou Python são desejáveis.
  d) O candidato deverá ter concluído o doutoramento há menos de sete anos.
  e) A bolsa pressupõe dedicação exclusiva ao projeto de pesquisa. 
  f) O bolsista não pode ter vínculo empregatício nem poderá receber, durante toda a vigência da bolsa, bolsa de outra entidade, salário ou remuneração decorrente do exercício de atividades de qualquer natureza. 
  
  Componentes da bolsa 
  O pós-doutoramento inclui bolsa mensal e reserva técnica disponíveis por um ano, com possibilidade de extensão por mais um ano. 
  
  a) O valor da bolsa de pós-doutoramento da FAPESP é de R$ 6.143,40 mensais.
  b) Também será disponibilizada reserva técnica da ordem de 15% do valor da bolsa para o custeio de atividades diretamente vinculadas ao desenvolvimento da pesquisa.

  The FAPESP Thematic Project "Global Sustainable Bioenergy Initiative: Geospatial & environmental analysis of pastureland intensification for bioenergy" is starting a selection process for a postdoctoral fellowship entitled "Agave (CAM) plant modeling".
  
  The project is being led by Dr. John Sheehan under the auspices of FAPESP's São Paulo Excellence Chair program. The broader project is a 3-year Thematic Project, conceived as a contribution to the Global Sustainable Bioenergy initiative, focusing on global-scale geospatial analysis relevant to bioenergy.
   
  The postdoctoral fellow will lead the effort to develop a global yield model for agave. The post-doc will work under the supervision of Dr. John Sheehan (São Paulo Excellence Chair, Unicamp) and with supporting advice from Dr. Steve Long and Dr. David LeBauer (both at the University of Illinois) to develop a model of agave as a representation of plants with Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM). 
  
  The post-doc will be responsible for incorporating the new model into BioCro—, a global bioenergy modeling platform developed by Dr. Steve Long at the University of Illinois—, and for using the model to simulate productivity for CAM biomass globally. 
  
  Candidate requirements 
  a) The candidate should have a PhD in a field related to plant biology.
  b) Relevant experience with the BioCro global bioenergy crop modeling platform is highly desirable. 
  c) Computer programming skills in MATLAB, R and/or Python are also desirable. 
  d) The candidate should have concluded a doctorate less than seven years before the beginning of the PD fellowship. 
  e) The fellowship demands full time dedication to the research project. 
  f) The fellowship holder may not hold any formal or informal employment nor receive, during the term of the fellowship, a fellowship from another entity, salary or remuneration deriving from the exercise of activities of whatever nature. 
  
  Fellowship components 
  The Post-Doctorate fellowship includes a monthly stipend and research contingency funds, available for a year, with a potential extension for another year. 
  
  a) The stipend of the FAPESP post-doctoral fellowship is R$ 6,143.40. 
  b) The research contingency funds are intended for use in activities developed by the fellowship holder, strictly related to the fellowship research project, during the term of the fellowship. The funds are equivalent to 15 per cent of the annual value of the fellowship.
