Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Remote Sensing and Artificial Intelligence applied to Agriculture

• Resumo Summary

  Bolsa de pós-doutorado, com duração de 24 meses, na área de Sensoriamento Remoto e Inteligência Artificial aplicados à Agricultura para atuar no Centro de Ciência para o Desenvolvimento em Agricultura Digital – Semear Digital.

  As atividades incluem: i) aquisição e organização de séries temporais de imagens de satélite; ii) aplicação de modelos de IA às séries de imagem para resolver problemas incluindo, mas não limitados a, classificação, identificação de eventos fenológicos, etc.; iii) avaliação de resultados utilizando fusão de dados; iv) produção de relatórios técnicos e trabalhos científicos.

  O bolsista deverá ter obtido o título de doutor há menos de 7 (sete) anos, no país ou no exterior, com graduação ou pós em Ciência da Computação, Engenharia de Computação, Engenharia Elétrica, Engenharia Agronômica, Engenharia Florestal, Engenharia Cartográfica, ou áreas afins. Deseja-se: i) boa capacidade de comunicação oral e escrita; ii) capacidade de atuação em equipe interdisciplinar; iii) adequação ao estabelecimento de metas e o cumprimento de prazos; iv) capacidade de leitura, interpretação e escrita no idioma inglês.

  A vaga está aberta a brasileiros e estrangeiros. O selecionado receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP no valor de R$ 12.570,00 mensais e Reserva Técnica equivalente a 10% do valor anual da bolsa para atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

  Post-doctoral fellowship, with a duration of 24 months, in the area of Remote Sensing and Artificial Intelligence applied to Agriculture to work at the Science Center for Development in Digital Agriculture – Semear Digital, one of the SCDs supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in São Paulo state, Brazil. The center is hosted by EMBRAPA Digital Agriculture, a decentralized unit of the Brazilian Corporation for Agricultural Research (EMBRAPA) located in the city of Campinas.

  Activities will include: i) acquisition and organization of satellite image time series; ii) application of AI models to the image series to solve problems including, but not limited to, classification, identification of phenological events, etc.; iii) evaluation of results using data fusion; iv) production of technical reports and scientific papers.

  The candidate must have obtained a Ph.D. degree less than 7 (seven) years ago, in the country or abroad, with a degree or post-graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Cartographic Engineering or related areas. The following are desirable: i) good oral and written communication skills; ii) ability to work in an interdisciplinary team; iii) ability to set goals and meet deadlines; iv) ability to read, interpret and write in English.

The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 12,570.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
