A Post-Doctoral position is available in the Department of Physiology at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School (University of São Paulo, Brazil).

The selected Pos-Doc will investigate, particularly, the Cardiovascular and Inflammatory Physiopathological Mechanisms in Spontaneously Hypertensive Rats (SHR) with periodontitis. The fellow will study the Cardiovascular Autonomic Modulation by examining the Arterial Pressure and Heart Rate Variability, the Hemodynamic Responses, the Cardiac Function, as well as the Inflammatory Responses (Cytokine Dosage). Besides, the Post-doc will investigate the benefits promoted by the application of Photobiomodulation Therapy in periodontitis.

Applicants must have significant scientific achievement at the Ph.D. and/or Post-Doctoral level. It will be highly appreciated a background in the use of Photobiomodulation Therapy and Microbiology Techniques.

Candidates must submit the following documents in PDF form before July 25th, 2021: 1. Curriculum vitae; 2. A letter with a brief report of his/her experience; 3. Contact address and Letter from three scientists, including his Ph.D. degree supervisor; 4. List of publications.

The documents should be sent to Professor Helio C. Salgado (hcsalgado@fmrp.usp.br).

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
