  AS INSTITUIÇÕES POLÍTICAS SUBNACIONAIS: UM ESTUDO COMPARATIVO DOS ESTADOS BRASILEIROS

  Chamada para Posição de Pesquisador Pós-Doutorado

  O Centro de Política e Economia do Setor Público – CEPESP da Fundação Getúlio Vargas – FGV – está procurando candidatos para a vaga de pesquisador pós-doutorado para atuar na pesquisa intitulada: “A coordenação eleitoral no Brasil: 1900-1964”, sobre a coordenação eleitoral no Brasil no período compreendido entre a Primeira e a Terceira República.

  O principal objetivo do projeto é proceder análises sobre as instituições políticas no período 1900 – 1964, o que permitirá aprofundar o conhecimento das causas e dos efeitos por trás dos diferentes desenhos institucionais adotados no decurso dos governos representativos no país, particularmente no que se refere às regras eleitorais em diferentes fases da história republicana.

  Esta pesquisa está associada ao projeto temático de pesquisa denominado “As Instituições Políticas Subnacionais: Um Estudo Comparativo dos Estados Brasileiros” financiada pela Fundação de Amparo à pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo – FAPESP.

  A abertura desta nova linha de pesquisa dentro do projeto temático, que até o presente concentrou suas pesquisas em análises do período pós-1988, se justifica tanto do ponto de vista teórico quanto empírico.

  Faz parte das novas ambições da fase atual do temático, na sua aba dedicada aos estudos de coordenação eleitoral, aprofundar a análise da relação estabelecida pelos partidos com os eleitores. Seguindo o propósito da transparência acadêmica que norteia o projeto temático, os dados coletados na pesquisa deverão ser disponibilizados no CEPESPDATA, o banco de dados eleitorais criados no interior do projeto.

  Espera-se que o candidato selecionado participe das atividades de pesquisa do projeto temático, sob a coordenação do pesquisador principal, Luiz Felipe Alencastro e localizado no FGV-CEPESP. As tarefas específicas incluem a preparação de relatórios, a construção de base de dados, a participação em conferências e outras atividades coletivas do projeto, e a elaboração de manuscritos para publicação.

  Neste primeiro momento, a bolsa de pós-doutorado terá a duração de 12 meses, podendo ser renovada até o limite de 48 meses. O valor atual da bolsa está em R$ 6 819,30, livre de impostos.

  SUBNATIONAL POLITICAL INSTITUTIONS: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE BRAZILIAN ESTATES
   

  New Post-Doctoral Position Search - Electoral History

   

  The Center of Politics and Economics of the Public Sector - CEPESP of the Getulio Vargas Foundation - FGV - is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position to perform research

  “Electoral Coordination in Brazil (1900-1964)” - on electoral coordination in Brazil in the period between the First and Third Republics.

   

  The main goal of the project is to investigate the political institutions in the period 1900 – 1964. Achieve a deeper understanding of the causes and effects behind the different institutional designs adopted in the course of the representative

  governments in Brazil, particularly with regard to Electoral rules at different stages of republican history is a crucial task.

   

  This research is associated with a general project entitled "The Subnational Political Institutions: A Comparative Study of the Brazilian States", funded by the Foundation for Research Support of the State of São Paulo - FAPESP.

   

  This new line of research within the general project is justified from both the theoretical and the empirical point of view. It is part of the new ambitions of the part of the general project, devoted to studies of electoral coordination, to deepen the analysis of the relation established by the parties with the voters in Brazilian

  democracy. Finally, following the purpose of the academic transparency that guides the general research project, all data collected by the researcher should be made available in

  CEPESPDATA, the electoral database created within the general project to make easier access to electoral data. 

   

  The FAPESP post-doc fellowship runs for 12 consecutive months, with a monthly payment of R$ 6.819,30 Reais/ about US$ 2.150,00 (free of tax) and, it can be renewed until it

  reaches a total limit of 48 months.

   

  The selected candidate is expected to participate in the research activities of the thematic project, such as:

   

  - Conceptualize and carry out statistical analyses of cross-sectional and panel databases;

  - Prepare analytic/integrative summaries of findings;

  - Collaborate with the research team on analysis of findings;

  - Collaborate with the research team on write-up of findings for publications;

  - Prepare individual reports and manuscripts for publication;

  - Participate in conference presentations;

  - Participate in other collective activities of the research project.
