One post-doctoral position is available at Embrapa Southeast Livestock, a decentralized unit of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA) located in São Carlos, São Paulo state, Brazil.

The objective of this fellowship is to evaluate and monitor the effect of partial and total replacement of the Haemonchus contortus population on the state of anthelmintic resistance in different sheep breeds.

Candidates must have a PhD degree obtained in the last 7 years in area related to the project. The vacancy requires experience in the usual techniques of veterinary parasitology in the laboratory (EPG, fecal culture, infective larvae and adults identification at species level, hematocrit, etc.) and in the field (FECRT, artificial infection of the hosts, quantification of nematodes from pasture and tracer animals, etc.). Some experience in basic molecular biology techniques is expected. It is important to have good didactics and good social interaction with the other students/fellows involved in the project, as it is expected that the researcher, when necessary, helps to guide undergraduate and graduate students. Dedication of 40 hours per week is required at EMBRAPA (from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM and from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM).

Interested candidates should send an email to the project coordinator, Ana Carolina Chagas (carolina.chagas@embrapa.br), containing the following documents in PDF: letter of interest (1 to 2 pages, include links to ORCID, ResearcherID, Scopus, etc.), curriculum (education, relevant experiences, articles, etc.) and two recommendation letters from senior researchers.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 8,479.20 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
