On October 24, 2012, the West Virginia University and The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) will hold an event to discuss the state of scientific research in the State of São Paulo, Brazil and future forms of cooperation between the two institutions, as part of the celebrations of FAPESP’s Golden Jubilee.

The scientific director of FAPESP, Dr. Carlos Henrique de Brito Cruz, will deliver a presentation about FAPESP’s present priorities, São Paulo’s scientific output this century and the perspective for the coming few years, followed by a debate among the participants on these issues.

Officials of WVU and FAPESP will then explore possible fields of cooperation between the two institutions.

11:30 – 12:15 pm: Opening of Brazilian Nature – Mystery and Destiny Exhibit
