One post-doctoral position with fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) is available to work at the University of São Paulo’s Chemistry Institute, Brazil.

The selected candidate will be part of a research project concerning potential sources, chemical properties, targets and biological responses of peroxides, free radicals and electronically excited species. Targets of interest include the chemical and enzymatic production and reactivity of triplet excited metabolites in the absence of light (“photochemistry in the absence of light”), and the bioluminescence of insects, fungi and marine organisms, in the latter case in partnership with other advisers of the FAPESP Thematic Project. We employ spectrophotometry, fluorescence, reaction kinetics, oximetry, separation, HPLC, MS, NMR, and EC.techniques.

Requirements for the position: English fluency, PhD degree in chemistry, pharmacy or biology, team spirit, commitment.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
