Post-doctoral fellow for a period of 12 months to work on the subproject "Tomographic reconstruction algorithms in ultrasound mammography" at the Laboratory of Biomedical Engineering, School of Engineering, University of Sao Paulo, supervised by Prof. Dr Sérgio Shiguemi Furuie. This subproject is linked to the thematic project "Medicine Assisted by Scientific Computing (INCT-MACC)", with funding from the Sao Paulo Research Foundation -- FAPESP (grant number 14 / 50889-7).

The scholar will work on the development of algorithms and electronic instrumentation for tomographic reconstruction from scattered acoustic waves, which will be collected by a set of distributed transducers around organs. The algorithms involve the solution of the nonlinear inverse problem based on the Helmholtz equation. We also intend to investigate new non-iterative approaches based on the d-bar complex operator.
