    Horatiu Nastase
    Instituto de Física Teórica, IFT/UNESP
Rua Dr. Bento Teobaldo Ferraz, 271, Bl. 2

We invite applications for one postdoctoral position on string theory with emphasis on the AdS/CFT correspondence at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the São Paulo State University (IFT/UNESP).

The position is initially for two years and can be renewed, contingently upon performance, for two more years. The fellowship is comparable with fellowships for similar positions in the US and Europe, and comes with a travel allowance of about $3k/year, as well as a one-time relocation subsidy.

The faculty of the IFT/UNESP string theory group are Nathan Berkovits, Andrei Mikhailov and Horatiu Nastase. The same institute hosts the ICTP-SAIFR (www.ictp-saifr.org), and the group maintains close contacts with the nearby group at the University of São Paulo (IF/USP), with faculty members Victor Rivelles and Diego Trancanelli.

Applications will be reviewed starting mid June 2016 until filled, with the possibility of starting the appointment in the beginning of September 2016.

Applicants should send a CV with a list of publications, a brief description of research interests and goals, and at least two letters of recommendation directly to:

    Horatiu Nastase
    Instituto de Física Teórica, IFT/UNESP
Rua Dr. Bento Teobaldo Ferraz, 271, Bl. 2
Barra Funda, 01140-070, São Paulo/SP, Brazil
Or (preferably) by email to: nastase@ift.unesp.br

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP's Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 6.819,30 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.

More information about the fellowship is at: www.fapesp.br/en/5427.
