The Institute of Chemistry (IQ) of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) within the scope of the Project CEPID - CIBFar - Center for Research and Innovation in Biodiversity and Drug Discovery offers one (1) opportunity for post-doctoral researcher, with scholarship funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation – FAPESP. The researcher will work with planning, synthesis and biological evaluation of new anti-tumor and parasiticide agents in collaboration with a group of researchers in natural products, medicinal chemistry and drug planning at CIBFar, one of the Research, Innovation and Disseminarions Centers (RIDCs, or “CEPIDs” in the Portuguese acronym) supported by FAPESP. The registration period ends on May 3, 2019.

The student will develop new strategies of asymmetric synthesis, using concepts of medicinal chemistry, and also of previously planned molecules with the purpose of discovering new candidates with anti-tumor or parasiticidal activity. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree obtained for a maximum of 7 (seven) years, at home or abroad, and experience in synthetic organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry. The work will be developed in the Laboratory of Synthesis of Natural Products and Drugs at IQ / UNICAMP, under the supervision of Professor Fernando Coelho.

Fluency in English and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams are required.

Those interested should send curriculum vitae, letter of interest and (2) two letters of recommendation to Prof. Fernando Antonio Santos Coelho, Principal Investigator of the CIBFar project (http://cibfar.ifsc.usp.br/english/), CEPID-FAPESP, at facoelho@unicamp.br.

The selected will receive a post-doctoral scholarship of FAPESP in the amount of R $ 7,373.10 (US$1.907,00) per month and Technical Reserve, which is equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the scholarship and is intended for use in activities strictly related to the research project. Scholars who need to move to Campinas can request the benefit of Installation Assistance, when there is displacement by distance greater than 350 km (three hundred and fifty kilometers). This benefit must be approved by FAPESP.
