  • Resumo Summary

    Bolsa pós-doutoral disponível para trabalhar com genômica de populações nativas americanas, sob supervisão da Prof. Dr. Tábita Hünemeier (https://sites.usp.br/hunemeierlab/), do Instituto de Biociências da Universidade de São Paulo (IB-USP). O projeto a ser desenvolvido almeja entender as causas e os mecanismos evolutivos envolvidos nas repostas aos patógenos em populações nativas da América.

    Qualificação

    Os aplicantes devem ter obtido seu título de doutor em Bioinformática, Biologia Evolutiva, Biologia Computacional, Genética, ou áreas relacionadas. Experiência em bioinformática e em análises de dados NGS (atuais e antigos) usando ambiente de nuvem são essenciais, assim como amplo conhecimento em genética de populações. Os aplicantes devem ter experiência em Linux/Unix e linguagens como Python e R.

    A vaga está aberta a brasileiros e estrangeiros. O selecionado receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP no valor de R$ 7.373,10 mensais e Reserva Técnica equivalente a 15% do valor anual da bolsa para atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

    A post-doctoral position is immediately available to work on population genomics of Native Americans at Hünemeier’s Lab (https://sites.usp.br/hunemeierlab/) at the Institute of Biosciences, University of São Paulo, Brazil. The project aims to understand the evolutionary causes and mechanisms involved in the Native American populations’ response to pathogens.

    Qualifications

    The qualified applicant will have a Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics, Evolutionary Biology, Computational Biology, Genetics, or a related field. Bioinformatics experience and previous experience with NGS analysis (present-day and ancient) using a Cloud environment are essential, as well as a strong background in population genomics. The applicant should have experience with Linux/Unix and scripting languages (Python and R).

    This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
