    Esta vaga refere-se ao projeto “SoSRARE: Multidisciplinary research towards a secure and environmentally sustainable supply of critical rare earth elements (Nd and HREE)” patrocinado pela FAPESP e pela NERC (Inglaterra).

    O projeto é de quatro anos. O principal objetivo é o estudo de minerais raros do Brasil, envolvendo estudos de estrutura cristalina e problemas de classificação e nomenclatura.

    Como parte do projeto, há uma bolsa para pós-doutorando, oferecida pela FAPESP, a ser desenvolvida no Departamento de Mineralogia e Geotectônica do Instituto de Geociências da USP.

    Geosciences Institute at USP invites applications for a postdoctoral position from young researchers.

    Applicants must have a PhD in Geosciences and scientific interest in minerals characterization.

    Study Subject(s): Scholarship is awarded for undertaking a research project on the Description and crystal-chemistry characterization of minerals of the Poços de Caldas Alkaline Complex rocks

    Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing postdoctoral programme at Department of Mineralogy and Geotectonics, Geosciences Institute, USP (University of São Paulo).

    Eligibility: Applicants must have a PhD in Geosciences and scientific interest in mineral characterization. In addition, applicants must have advanced knowledge on topics such as: X-ray diffraction, electron microprobe and Raman spectroscopy.

    Scholarship Description: The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) supports the project “SoSRARE: Multidisciplinary research towards a secure and environmentally sustainable supply of critical rare earth elements (Nd and HREE)”, in partnership with the NERC - England. This initial project is scheduled to four (04) years. The main objective of this project is the study of new and rare mineral species from Brazil seeks to increase the current mineralogical knowledge, through researches that involve the determination of crystal structures and the solution of mineralogical nomenclature problems. Under this project there is one (01) Postdoctoral Fellowship, offered by FAPESP and to be developed at the Department of Mineralogy and Geotectonics, Geosciences Institute, USP.

    Number of award(s): One postdoctoral position is available.

    Duration of award(s): Postdoctoral scholarship is valid for one year.

    What does it cover? The scholarship is the standard value set by FAPESP (R$ 6.819,30 each month in 2016), plus installation costs. The selected candidate will be particularly involved in the development of scientific research and orientation of undergraduate and graduate students.

    Selection Criteria: Be part of a Postdoctoral program in related area.
