  • Resumo Summary

    O bolsista trabalhará na investigação anatômica e da expressão gênica do aparato de veneno das serpentes, incluindo esqueleto, músculos e glândulas cefálicas. A pesquisa envolve a análise morfológica e transcriptômica comparativa de espécies representativas das três famílias de serpentes Neotropicais (Elapidae, Viperidae e Dipsadidae) que apresentam táxons venenosos.

    Pré-requisitos: 1) Título de doutor em área correlata ao projeto concluído há menos de 5 anos; 2) Interesse em evolução de serpentes e experiência comprovada no estudo anatômico, histológico, histoquímico, transcriptômico ou micro-CT de vertebrados; 4) Desejável fluência em inglês e português e disponibilidade para residir em São Paulo durante os dois anos da bolsa.

    Interessados devem enviar e-mail para biodiversity.scales@butantan.gov.br até 15/11/2017, contendo:

    1) CV (preferencialmente no formato Lattes);

    2) Carta de apresentação justificando o interesse na vaga;

    3) Contatos (nome, Instituição, telefone e e-mail) de dois a três pesquisadores que possam dar informações sobre o candidato.

    The Postdoc will work on the subproject “Evolution of the skull and associated muscles and glands in the Neotropical venomous snakes of the families Elapidae, Viperidae, and Dipsadidae”, aiming to study the morphological evolution of the venom delivery system (including skeleton, muscles, glands and transcriptomes associated) in representatives of the genera Bothrops (lancehead vipers), Micrurus (coral snakes), and some tribes of dipsadids.

    Qualifications for position: 1) Ph.D. in biological sciences or related fields (concluded in the previous 5 years); 2) Interest in snake evolution and experience on anatomy, histology, histochimestry, trascriptomics or micro-CT of vertebrates; 3) Desirable fluency in both English and Portuguese and the availability of living in São Paulo during the two-year project.

    Candidates should send an e-mail to biodiversity.scales@butantan.gov.br until 11/15/2017, with the following content:

    1) CV (Lattes is the preferred form);

    2) Motivation letter explaining your interest in the position;

    3) Personal info. (name, Institution, phone number and e-mail) for two or three researchers that could give information about the candidate.
