O tema do pós-doutorado é "Neuroproteção e sinalização celular no sistema nervoso central". O supervisor será o professor Cristoforo Scavone.

The Thematic Project "Aging and Neuroprotection: α-Klotho protein actions on energy metabolism, Na, K-ATPase signaling and adaptive responses in the central nervous system" has a postdoctoral position at the Biomedical Sciences Institute of the University of São Paulo.

The postdoctoral theme is "Neuroprotection and signaling cell in the central nervous system". The supervisor will be Professor Cristoforo Scavone.

As part of its activities, the fellow will carry out a project involving analysis of inflammatory signaling and effects of Klotho protein on autophagy.

The work will be developed in the Laboratory of Molecular Neuropharmacology and there are perspectives to develop part of the studies abroad. The selected should conduct all experiments and analyzes independently, work collaboratively and perform coorientation of undergraduate, master and doctoral students of the research group in the activities of the laboratory, as well as compiling periodic reports and scientific articles.

Candidates must have a doctor's degree obtained no more than seven years ago, in Brazil or abroad, preferably in the area of Neuropharmacology / Neuroscience.

This research program requires experience in: 1) cell culture; 2) animal experiments involving the intracerebral administration of the protein and other receptor agonist and antagonist substances or protein inhibitors; 3) behavioral assays; 4) biochemical methods of molecular biology such as determination of Enzymatic activity, Western Blotting, RT-PCR real time, EMSA.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP's Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 6.819,30 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
