  • Resumo Summary

    O Grupo de Dinâmica e Geometria em Baixas Dimensões do Instituto de Matemática e Estatística da Universidade de São Paulo (IME-USP) convida candidaturas a 8 bolsas de pós-doutoramento.

    As bolsas são por dois anos, renováveis duas vezes por até quatro anos. Não há responsabilidades de ensino. Estamos buscando candidatos com forte potencial de pesquisa em áreas de interesse para o grupo: dinâmica real e complexa em baixas dimensões, dinâmica topológica em superfícies, geometria e topologia em baixas dimensões, geometria hiperbólica de 3-variedades, teoria de Teichmüller, geometria e topologia simplética e teoria ergódica estão entre os interesses do grupo.

    Os membros e seus interesses estão listados na página do grupo em https://www.ime.usp.br/~sylvain/Dynamics/dynamics.html

    As bolsas são dadas pela FAPESP, a agência de financiamento da pesquisa do estado de São Paulo, e incluem:

    - Salário mensal de R$ 7.174,00 (isento de impostos, no 96º percentil de renda brasileira);
    - 15% do salário anual adicionais para despesas relacionadas à pesquisa;
    - Custos de instalação, incluindo passagem aérea (para bolsistas vindos de mais de 350km de distância) e um mês de bolsa extra;
    - Licença de maternidade e paternidade conforme descrito em http://www.fapesp.br/270

    Os candidatos devem ter obtido o doutorado até a data de início da bolsa e devem ter-se formado não mais do que sete anos atrás. Para candidatar-se, utilize o site MathJobs.org em www.mathjobs.org/jobs/jobs/11507 e envie:

    - Carta de apresentação;
    - CV;
    - Projeto de pesquisa;
    - Três cartas de recomendação.

    A revisão de candidaturas tem início em 15 de dezembro e continuará até que as posições sejam preenchidas. As primeiras ofertas não serão feitas antes do dia 15 de janeiro. Para mais informações, entre em contato com André de Carvalho em andre@ime.usp.br

    The Low Dimensional Dynamics and Geometry Group of the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of São Paulo (IME-USP), invites applications for 8 postdoctoral positions.

    The positions are for two years, renewable twice for up to four years. There are no teaching responsibilities. We are looking for candidates with strong research potential in areas of interest to the group: real and complex dynamics in low dimensions, topological dynamics on surfaces, low dimensional geometry and topology, hyperbolic geometry of 3-manifolds, Teichmüller theory, symplectic geometry and topology, ergodic theory are among the groups interests.

    Members and their interests are listed on the group’s page at https://www.ime.usp.br/~sylvain/Dynamics/dynamics.html

    The funding is provided by FAPESP, the research funding agency of the state of São Paulo, and benefits include:

    - Monthly stipend of 7,174.00 BRL (tax free; in the 96th percentile of Brazilian income);
    - Additional 15% of yearly income for research related expenses;
    - Start-up costs, including air travel and one extra month of pay;
    - Maternity and paternity leave as described on www.fapesp.br/en/5427

    Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree by the start date of the scholarship and should have graduated no longer than seven year ago. To apply, candidates should submit to MathJobs.org (www.mathjobs.org/jobs/jobs/11507):

    - Cover letter;
    - CV;
    - Research Project;
    - Three letters of recommendation.

    Review of applications will begin on December 15 and will continue until the positions are filled. The first offers will be made no earlier than January 15. For further inquiries, please contact André de Carvalho at andre@ime.usp.br
