Post-doctoral Fellowship in Biochemistry / Molecular Biology

• Resumo Summary

  Esse estudo faz parte de um Projeto Temático que visa a compreensão das funções fisiológicas e patológicas dessa cinases no contexto do metabolismo mitocondrial. O estudo será realizado em laboratórios localizadas na Faculdade de Farmácia da Unicamp.

  Pré-requisitos:

  1) Interesse com métodos modernos de biologia molecular e no desenvolvimento de novos métodos e ensaios;

  2) Interesse pela áreas de sinalização celular e de câncer;

  3) Fluência em inglês e português (exceto estrangeiros);

  4) Disponibilidade de residir em Campinas durante a duração da bolsa e interesse em realização de período de sanduíche;

  5) Desejável: PhD em biologia molecular, bioquímica ou áreas correlatas e experiência com cultivo celular;

  6) Bom currículo com número de publicações de qualidade.

  Interessados devem enviar até 15 de maio de 2020 para o Prof. Jörg Kobarg (jorgkoba@unicamp.br) a seguinte documentação: (i) link do Currículo Lattes, (ii) carta de interesse e (iii) contato de dois profissionais que estejam disponíveis para servir como referência (nome, instituição, telefone e e-mail) ou cartas de recomendação dos mesmos, (iv) proposta de projeto de aproximadamente 10 páginas (com Introdução, objetivos e metodologia) propondo estudos funcionais para responder perguntas centrais da biologia de Nek cinases no contexto funcional das mitocôndrias.

  A vaga está aberta a brasileiros e estrangeiros. O selecionado receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP no valor de R$ 7.373,10 mensais e Reserva Técnica equivalente a 15% do valor anual da bolsa para atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

  This project will be part of a Thematic Project hosted by the Pharmaceutical Sciences School of the University of Campinas, UNICAMP (state of São Paulo, Brazil), which aims at the comprehension of the physiological and patho-physiological functions of the Nek kinases in the context of mitochondrial metabolism.

  Prerequisites:

  1) Interest in modern methods in molecular biology and in the development of new methods and bioassays;

  2) Interest in the areas of cell signaling and cancer research;

  3) Fluency in English; foreign candidates should have interest in learning basic Portuguese during the post-doc period;

  4) Availability to take residency in Campinas during the fellowship period and interest in performing part of the project in an Institute abroad (sandwich program / BEPE fellowship);

  5) Desirable: PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related areas and experience with cell culture;

  6) A good CV with a number of publications of good quality.

  Interessed fellows should send the following documentation to Prof. Jörg Kobarg (jorgkoba@unicamp.br) by May 15th, 2020: (i) their complete CV in a word file, (ii) a letter of interest, (iii) 2 letters of recommendation of active researchers, (iv) a short project proposal to up to 10 pages (with Introduction, Objectives and Methodology) in respect to a possible functional study aiming at responding central questions of the biology of Nek kinases in the context of mitochondrial functions.

  This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
