  • Resumo Summary

    O grupo de pesquisa multidisciplinar trabalhando no desenvolvimento de "Abordagem multi e interdisciplinar para compreender padrões espaço-temporais de insetos praga e delinear paisagens para manejo sustentável de pragas em sistemas agrícolas tropicais" oferece vaga de pós-doutor a um pesquisador motivado e independente, com financiamento FAPESP. 

    O pós-doutor investigará os efeitos da planta hospedeira na diversidade e contribuição funcional da microbiota intestinal de insetos praga utilizando abordagens de metagenômica e metatrascritômica. 

    O candidato deve apresentar experiência no uso de ferramentas moleculares e de bioinformática necessárias à produção e análise de dados de sequenciamento de nova geração.

    A multidisciplinary research team working on "Multi- and Interdisciplinary Approaches to Understand Spatio-Temporal Patterns of Insect Pests and Design Landscapes for Sustainable Pest Management in Tropical Agricultural Systems" is seeking for an independent, self-motivated post-doc. 

    The post-doc will investigate the effect of host plant on the diversity and functional contribution of the gut microbiota to host plant utilization by using metagenomic and metatranscriptomic analyses. 

    The candidate must have experience in the use of molecular and bioinformatic tools required for production and analysis of high throughput sequencing data. 

    The selected candidate will be granted a 2-yr Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), which can be renewed for one extra year. This opportunity is open to candidates of all nationalities.

    Starting date: negotiable, but preferably by October 31st, 2015.

    The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP's Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 6.143,40 (around 2,600 USD) monthly and research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
