  O grupo do Prof. Luiz Carlos Dias (UNICAMP) selecionará um pesquisador com experiência em síntese orgânica e química medicinal para uma posição de pós-doutorado, com Bolsa da FAPESP.

  A oportunidade integra o CEPID-FAPESP, "Centro de Pesquisa e Inovação em Biodiversidade e Fármacos", que tem o Prof. Glaucius Oliva do IF da USP São Carlos como Coordenador. O grupo do Prof. Luiz Dias desenvolve colaboração com a iniciativa Medicamentos para Doenças Negligenciadas (DNDi, www.dndi.org).

  A iniciativa Medicamentos para Doenças Negligenciadas é uma organização de pesquisa e desenvolvimento sem fins lucrativos que trabalha para oferecer novos tratamentos para doenças negligenciadas, em especial a doença de Chagas, leishmaniose, doença do sono, filarioses, malária e HIV pediátrico.

  O pós-doutor selecionado deverá investigar a síntese de análogos de uma molécula alvo, enviada pela DNDi, como ponto de partida para descobrir um composto que obedeça aos critérios para candidatos finais da DNDi, visando a prevenção e o tratamento da Doença de Chagas e Leishmanose.

  Para superar a acessibilidade limitada a moléculas e a capacidade reduzida de triagem, a DNDi  tem como objetivo catalisar a pesquisa para a descoberta de novas e pequenas moléculas ativas por via oral, com potencial para futuro desenvolvimento. Esta  colaboração constitui um enorme recurso para o avanço das atividades de descoberta de medicamentos contra a Doença de Chagas e Leishmanose.

  O candidato deve ter formação em química orgânica sintética e química medicinal e deve ter obtido o título de doutor há no máximo sete anos.

  Documentos necessários, em formato PDF: carta de interesse, CV atualizado incluindo trabalhos publicados que atestem a capacidade de realização do projeto e resumo da tese de doutorado (1-2 páginas).

  O pós-doutorando deverá conduzir experimentos e interagir com os pesquisadores participantes do projeto acima.

  A vaga está aberta a brasileiros e estrangeiros. O selecionado receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP (no valor de R$ 6.143,40 mensais) e Reserva Técnica. A Reserva Técnica de Bolsa de PD equivale a 15% do valor anual da bolsa e tem o objetivo de atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

  O bolsista de PD, caso resida em domicílio diferente e precise se mudar para a cidade onde se localiza a instituição sede da pesquisa, poderá ter direito a um Auxílio Instalação. Mais informações sobre a bolsa de pós-doutorado da FAPESP em www.fapesp.br/bolsas/pd.

  Existe a possibilidade de outras duas vagas para bolsistas de pós-doutorado, no mesmo valor mensal de R$ 6.143,40, pagas pela DNDi, mas estas duas bolsas não tem a reserva técnica nem o auxílio instalação.

   

  The research group of Prof. Luiz Carlos Dias (UNICAMP) selects a researcher with experience in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry for a post-doctoral position with a FAPESP fellowship.

  The opportunity integrates one of the Innovation and Dissemination Centers (RIDCs), "Center for Research and Innovation in Biodiversity and New Drugs", Coordinated by Prof. Glaucius Oliva (IF USP São Carlos).

  This project involves collaboration with the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi, www.dndi.org). The Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative is a nonprofit organization conducting research and development that works to provide new treatments for neglected diseases, especially Chagas disease, leishmaniasis, sleeping sickness, filariasis, malaria and pediatric HIV. DNDi aims to catalyze research for the discovery of new and orally active molecules with potential for future clinical development.

  The selected post-doc should investigate the design and synthesis of analogues of a target molecule, selected by DNDi as a starting point, to find a compound that meets the DNDi criteria for final candidates, for the prevention and treatment of Chagas disease and leishmaniasis. This collaboration is an important part of building a new centre of excellence for the advancement of drug discovery activities against Chagas disease and leishmaniasis. 

  The selected candidate will liaise closely with other drug discovery scientists (e.g. medicinal chemistry, parasitology, DMPK, safety, formulation) contributing to the overall project team.

  The candidate must have training in synthetic organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry.

  The vacancy is open to Brazilians and foreigners. The Post-Doctorate fellowship includes a monthly stipend (R$ 6.143,40) and research contingency funds. The Research contingency funds are intended for use in activities developed by the Fellowship holder, strictly related to the fellowship research project, during the term of the fellowship. The funds are equivalent to 15 per cent of the annual value of the fellowship.

  Together with the Scientific Report, the Fellowship holder should report on the use of the research contingency funds. This report should be approved by the supervisor.

  There is the possibility of two more positions in the same amount of 6.143,40 Brazilian Reais month, paid by DNDi, but these two positions do not have the research contigency fund nor the installation aid.
