  Uma bolsa de Pós-Doutorado está disponível para trabalhar em uma equipe de pesquisadores envolvidos no projeto "Investigação sobre fatores e mecanismos do controle de expressão gênica em Leishmania: do papel de modificações pós-traducionais, RNAs não codificadores, cis-elementos e amplificação gênica".
  
  O grupo de Angela Cruz está localizado no Departamento de Biologia Celular e Molecular, Ribeirão Preto, da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMRP/USP), e a vaga está aberta a bolsistas de qualquer nacionalidade ou sexo. 
  
  Leishmania é um eucarioto ancestral e um parasito de relevância médica. Como organismo modelo torna-se interessante por exibir vários processos moleculares ímpares. Os nossos objetivos incluem decifrar mecanismos moleculares que expliquem a regulação pós-transcricional da expressão gênica em Leishmania. 
  
  O projeto de pesquisa de pós-doutor tem como objetivo identificar e estudar o repertório de RNAs não codificantes (ncRNAs) envolvidos no controle da expressão gênica e sua possível relevância na adaptação do parasita aos hospedeiros. 
  
  O trabalho incluirá a obtenção e o sequenciamento de transcriptomas de Leishmania (em sistemas de highthroughput), a identificação de trans-reguladores, redes de proteínas e RNAs e estudos funcionais por genética reversa.
   
  Requisitos: Os candidatos devem ter Doutorado em Parasitologia, Bioquímica, Genética, Biologia Molecular ou áreas afins. Será dada preferência a indivíduos com experiência comprovada em parasitologia molecular. Conhecimento em biologia molecular é necessário. Experiência com parasitas protozoários, genômica e habilidades computacionais relacionadas é fortemente encorajada.
  
  Os candidatos devem ser criativos e motivados, ter excelentes habilidades de comunicação oral e escrita e senso de trabalho em equipe. É também altamente desejável que o candidato seja fluente em Inglês e, se for não fluente em Português, deve estar disposto a aprender em um curto período de tempo (para adquirir capacidade de comunicação mínima).

  A Post-Doctoral fellowship is available to work in a research team involved with the project "Studying the control of gene expression in Leishmania: post-translational modification, non coding RNAs, cis-elements and gene amplification".
  
  Angela Cruz's group is located in the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, Ribeirão Preto School of Medicine, University of São Paulo (FMRP/USP), and welcomes fellows from any nationality or gender. 
  
  Leishmania is an ancestral eukaryote and a human parasite of medical relevance. As a model organism it exhibits several odd molecular processes. Our objectives are to decipher molecular mechanisms to stand different modes of post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in Leishmania. 
  
  The post-doctoral research project aims to identify and study the repertoire of non coding RNAs (ncRNAs) involved in the control of gene expression and that may be critical for the parasite adaptation to the hosts.
   
  The work will include highthroughput RNA sequencing and analysis, identification of trans-regulators, networking of proteins and RNAs and functional studies by reverse genetics. 
  
  Requirements: Applicants must have a PhD in Parasitology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology or related fields. Preference will be given to individuals with a proven experience on molecular parasitology. Expertise in molecular biology is required, and experience with protozoan parasites, genomics and related computational skills is strongly encouraged. 
  
  Candidates should be creative, personally motivated, have excellent oral and written communication skills and a sense of teamwork. It is also highly desirable that applicants are fluent in English and if not fluent in Portuguese must be willing to learn it in a short period of time (to acquire minimal communication skills).

  The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP's Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 6,143.40 (around 2,600 USD) monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
