  Estão abertas candidaturas para pesquisa de pós-doutorado para estudar a relação entre estrutura e função de chaperonas moleculares, com ênfase na complementação de cepas de levedura 'knockout'. 
  
  O objetivo é construir modelos para explicar o mecanismo pelo qual chaperonas moleculares interagem com substratos desenovelados e transferi-los para maquinarias moleculares específicas. Nosso grupo pretende também identificar potenciais alvos para intervenção terapêutica. 
  
  O candidato deve ter um PhD relevante em Bioquímica ou áreas correlatas e forte experiência com a genética de leveduras e técnicas que envolvem biologia molecular, biologia celular, 'western-blotting' e interação proteína-proteína. 
  
  Evidência de experiência prática de trabalho com a produção de proteínas recombinantes, biologia celular de doenças neurodegenerativas, biofísica molecular ou biologia estrutural será considerada positivamente.
  
  Período: De dois a quatro anos, dependendo da performance. Início esperado a partir do terceiro trimestre de 2015.
  
  Benefícios: Bolsa da FAPESP (bolsa mensal de R$ 6.143,40; despesas de transporte e instalação; e fundos de contingência de pesquisa). 
  
  Principais obrigações: O candidato deve ter concluído o doutorado menos de sete anos antes do início da bolsa PD. A bolsa exige dedicação em tempo integral ao projeto de pesquisa. O bolsista não pode exercer qualquer emprego formal ou informal, nem receber, durante a vigência da bolsa.

  Applications are invited for postdoctoral research to study the relationship between structure and function of specific molecular chaperones with emphasis on complementation of yeast knockout strains. 
  
  The goal is to build models to explain the mechanism by which molecular chaperones interact with unfolded substrates and transfer them to specified molecular machines. Our group also seeks to identify potential targets for therapeutic intervention. 
  
  The successful candidate will have a relevant PhD in Biochemistry or correlated areas and will have strong experience with yeast genetics and techniques involving molecular biology, cell biology, western, and protein-protein interaction. 
  
  Evidence of practical work experience with recombinant protein production, cell biology of neurodegenerative disease, molecular biophysics or structural biology would be an advantage.
  
  Period: Two to four years depending on performance. Expected beginning in the third quarter of 2015. 
  
  Benefits: FAPESP fellowship (monthly stipend of R$ 6.143,40; expenditure on transport; aid installation; and research contingency funds). 
  
  Main obligations: The candidate should have concluded a doctorate less than seven years before the beginning of the PD fellowship. The fellowship demands full time dedication to the research project. The fellowship holder may not hold any formal or informal employment nor receive, during the term of the fellowship.
