• Resumo Summary

  O Projeto Temático "Esquizofrenia e outros transtornos psicóticos: determinantes sociais e biológicos", apoiado pela FAPESP (processo 2012/05178-0), tem uma posição de pós-doutorado em Neuroimagem aplicada à Psiquiatria aberta, com Bolsa da FAPESP (cota residual), para inscrição e posterior seleção. 
  
  Resumo do projeto temático: Este projeto temático faz parte de estudo multicêntrico denominado "European Network of National Networks Studying Schizophrenia Gene-Environment Interactions" (EU-GEI; www.eu-gei.eu), um consórcio internacional que tem como objetivo investigar a etiologia, mecanismos e prognóstico da esquizofrenia e outros transtornos psicóticos (EOP). 
  
  Pretende-se estimar a incidência de EOP na região de Ribeirão Preto-SP, Brasil, e investigar possíveis interações entre fatores sociais e biológicos na ocorrência de transtornos mentais. 
  
  Resumo do projeto de pós-doutorado: Especificamente para a posição de pós-doutor, o pesquisador conduzirá o subprojeto "Alterações cerebrais estruturais em esquizofrenia e outros transtornos psicóticos", destinado a investigar: 
  
  a) Alterações anatômicas no cérebro de indivíduos com EOP, comparados com controles saudáveis e população em risco de EOP (irmãos saudáveis); 
  b) Fatores pré-mórbidos e clínicos associados a alterações anatômicas no cérebro de indivíduos com EOP; 
  c) Associações entre variantes genéticas e alterações anatômicas no cérebro de indivíduos com EOP, utilizando estratégias de Genome Wide Associations (GWA). 
  
  Perfil do candidato: A vaga está aberta a brasileiros e estrangeiros. O candidato deve ter formação em Computação, Física, Medicina, Biologia e doutorado em áreas afins. 
  
  É esperado que o candidato tenha experiência com neuroimagem e que demonstre conhecimentos, habilidades e competências em aquisição, processamento e análise de dados de neuroimagem, manejo de pacotes estatísticos, criação de bancos de dados e uso de sistemas de registro eletrônico de imagens médicas.

  Seleção: A seleção do bolsista será realizada por análise da documentação recebida, avaliação dos currículos dos candidatos habilitados e entrevista a ser agendada.

  The thematic project "Schizophrenia and other psychosis: social and biological determinants" supported by FAPESP (grant number 2012/05178-0) has an open postdoctoral position in Neuroimaging in Psychiatry with a FAPESP fellowship for registration and later selection.
  
  Summary: This proposal is part of a multicenter study, the European Network of National Networks Studying Schizophrenia Gene-Environment Interactions (EU-GEI; www.eu-gei.eu), an international consortium that aims to investigate etiology, mechanisms and prognosis of Schizophrenia and other psychosis (SOP). 
  
  This proposal aims to estimate the incidence of SOP in the region of Ribeirão Preto-SP, Brazil, and to investigate possible interactions between social and biological factors in the occurrence of mental disorders. 
  
  Specifically for this position, the fellow will carry out the subproject "Structural Brain abnormalities in Schizophrenia and Other Psychosis (SOP)" aimed to investigate: 
  
  a) Anatomic changes in the brain of individuals with EOP, compared with healthy controls and with individuals at risk of EOP (healthy siblings);
  b) Pre-morbid and clinical factors associated with anatomical changes in the brain of individuals with EOP;
  c) Associations between genetic variants and anatomical changes in the brain of individuals with EOP, using Genome Wide Associations (GWA).
   
  Applicant’s Profile: The position is open to Brazilians and to foreigners. The applicant must to satisfy the following requirements: 
  
  a) Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Medicine, Biology; 
  b) Doctorate in Computer Science, Physics, Medicine, Biology or related areas. 
  
  The candidate should demonstrate knowledge, skills and competencies in acquisition, processing and analyses of neuroimaging data, use of statistical packages and database banks, and use of electronic record systems for medical imaging.
  
  Registration: The registration will have to be exclusively by e-mail, with the documentation attached as a PDF file and addressed to Prof. Dr. Cristina Marta Del-Ben (delben@fmrp.usp.br), by October 26, 2014. When registering by e-mail the candidate should to present: 
  
  a) Updated Curriculum;
  b) A short report (a maximum of two pages) of his/her professional experience and motivation about the function; 
  c) Two researchers in the area as recommendation and their email addresses. 
  
  Selection: The fellow will be selected in three stages: 
  a) Analysis of the documentation received; 
  b) Evaluation of the curriculum of qualified candidates; 
  c) Interview to be booked during the selection. 
  
  Result: The result will be sent by e-mail starting October 30, 2014.
  
  This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 6,143.40 (around 2,600 USD) monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
