  A Fundação de Amparo À Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP) financia o projeto: Contribuição para produção de bioenergia pela América Latina, Caribe e África ao projeto GSB - Lacaf I - Cane (http://bioenfapesp.org/gsb/lacaf/).
   
  O objetivo principal deste projeto é explorar possibilidades para produção de biocombustíveis de forma sustentável em países em desenvolvimento. Sob o projeto LACAf duas (02) vagas para pós-doutores estão sendo oferecidas junto ao Núcleo Interdisciplinar de Planejamento Energético - NIPE (www.nipeunicamp.org.br).
   
  Os candidatos devem possuir doutorado, obtido a partir de 2009, nas áreas de agronomia, engenharia, economia ou administração e interesse cientí­fico na produção de etanol de cana-de-açúcar na América Latina e África. 
  
  Adicionalmente, os interessados devem ter excelente currí­culo (publicações) e conhecimento avançado em temas como: análise de dados, sustentabilidade, modelagem de plantas cultivadas e cana-de-açúcar. 
  
  Os candidatos selecionados estarão particularmente envolvidos no desenvolvimento de pesquisa científica e, possivelmente, orientação de estudantes de (pós)graduação. 
  
  As bolsas de pós-doutorado têm vigência de dois anos, com possibilidade de extensão por mais 12 meses. O valor da bolsa é de R$ 6,143.40, mais auxí­lio-transporte (deslocamento para Campinas) e instalação (www.fapesp.br/270#2).

  The São Paulo Research Foundation - FAPESP (www.fapesp.br/en) funds the project entitled: Contribution to the production of bioenergy from Latin America, Caribbean and Africa - LACAf-I (http://bioenfapesp.org/gsb/lacaf/). 
  
  The main objective of this project is to evaluate possibilities for Latin American and African countries to produce ethanol fuel on a sustainable basis without affecting food security. 
  
  Under LACAf-I, two postdoctoral positions are open at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Energy Planning – NIPE (www.nipeunicamp.org.br), State University of Campinas (Unicamp), for young researchers (Ph.D. obtained from 2009 onwards) graduated in the fields of agronomy, engineering, economics or management with strong research interest in the production of ethanol from sugarcane in Latin America and Africa. 
  
  Strong analytical skills, advanced knowledge of sustainability issues including crop modeling and sugarcane, plus the ability to work independently will be highly appreciated. Applicants should have an excellent publication record in scientific journals, conferences, etc. 
  
  Successful candidates will be engaged in the design and implementation of scientific research with strong emphasis on dissemination (publication) and, possibly, mentoring (under)graduate students. Young scientists will also have the opportunity to work with leading experts in different fields of knowledge combined with a learning platform to launch their research careers. 
  
  The fellowship tenure will be two years, with a 12 month extension possible based on performance in the first two years. The fellowship includes a tax-free monthly stipend of R$ 6,143.40, plus 15% of the yearly value for research related expenses, plus travel for the selected researchers and their family to Campinas, Brazil, as well as an additional value equivalent to the monthly stipend for installation expenses.
