• Resumo Summary

  O projeto visa a documentação e interpretação do registro estratigráfico e sedimentológico de três testemunhos de sondagem a serem coletados nas bacias do Acre, Solimões e Marajó.

  O candidato selecionado irá auxiliar nas operações de sondagens, descrição in situ e preparação de testemunhos para transporte e descrições e interpretações detalhadas.

  Os dados estratigráficos e sedimentológicos serão integrados aos diversos registros paleoambientais do Trans-Amazon Drilling Project (TADP). A bolsa terá duração de até 36 meses.

  Pré-requisitos: O candidato deve ter experiência em descrição de testemunhos de sedimentos clásticos, com ênfase em análise de fácies de depósitos continentais; experiência na aquisição de dados sedimentológicos em campo; boa comunicação em Inglês (oral e escrita); habilidade para preparar relatórios científicos e manuscritos para publicação.

  A vaga está aberta a brasileiros e estrangeiros. Os selecionados receberão Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP no valor de R$ 7.373,10 mensais e Reserva Técnica equivalente a 10% do valor anual da bolsa para atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

  Post-doctoral position aiming to document and interpret the stratigraphy and sedimentology of three cores from the Acre, Solimões, and Marajó basins in northern Brazil.

  The sedimentological and stratigraphic information will be integrated and give context to the analytical database obtained by the interdisciplinary team working in the Trans-Amazon Drilling Project.

  The selected candidate will assist the drilling operations, coordinate the in-situ description and preparation of the cores, and coordinate the sedimentological descriptions and interpretations. The fellowship has a monthly amount of R$7,373.10 and will be valid for up to 36 months.

  Pre-requisites: Experience in the sedimentological description of clastic sediment cores and facies analysis of continental deposits; experience in field-based data acquisition and sampling of continental clastic rocks; good English communication skills; ability to prepare scientific reports and manuscripts in the English language.

The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
