Resumo
Summary
O candidato selecionado irá trabalhar no subprojeto intitulado “Avaliação do potencial imunomodulador do probiótico Akkermansia muciniphila no desenvolvimento do DM1”.
1. Currículo Vitae;
2. Carta relatando os motivos do seu interesse e as suas experiências;
One post-doctoral position with fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) is available within the scope of a FAPESP-funded project (grant number #2018/14815-0, Young Investigator Grant scheme) hosted by the University of São Paulo’s Ribeirão Preto Medical School (FMRP-USP), Ribeirão Preto, Brazil. The selected candidate will work on a subproject, entitled “Evaluation of the immunomodulatory potential of the probiotic Akkermansia muciniphila in T1D development,” which aims to determine the effect of administration and action mechanism induced by A. muciniphila in T1D pre-clinical models, in order to elucidate new mechanisms of the gut microbiota / immunity axis and to discover a potential nutritional approach as a preventive and/or therapeutic strategy in T1D.
Required Skills
The candidates must have a PhD degree and graduation in the Biological Sciences field, with focus on Immunology. The prior skills are required animal experimentation, in cell culture, flow cytometry, immunoassays and molecular biology techniques (RT-PCR, Western Blot and desirable in microarray). Candidate must have initiative, independence and collaboration in a research group. Prior expertise in mucosal immunity would be considered.
Application
Candidates must submit the following documents in PDF form, by December 5, 2019, to Prof. Daniela Carlos Sartori (email danicar@usp.br):
1. Curriculum vitae;
2. Cover letter describing reasons you are interested and your experience;
3. Letters of two references, including the letter of PhD degree supervisor.This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
