  • Resumo Summary

    Neste projeto de pós-doutoramento, o bolsista irá participar da equipe brasileira auxiliando no desenvolvimento do projeto "Compreendendo a dinâmica da opinião e da linguagem utilizando Big Data (projeto T-AP)". Especificamente, o bolsista irá trabalhar com os membros da equipe brasileira na parte do projeto T-AP que envolve pesquisa sobre a evolução da linguagem por meio de análise Big Data. O bolsista contribuirá com a investigação trazendo conhecimento de linguística e semiótica, além de colaborar no desenvolvimento de modelos computacionais sobre a dinâmica de evolução da linguagem, investigando a seguinte pergunta: Podem os recursos dos big data serem usados para trazer evidências relevantes em apoio à hipótese de que as línguas naturais possuem as características centrais dos sistemas adaptativos complexos?

    Objetivos

    Os objetivos centrais deste Projeto de Pesquisa consistem em (1) investigar, como parte da equipe brasileira do projeto T-AP, o desenvolvimento de modelos em sociologia computacional, especificamente modelos de dinâmicas linguísticas, por meio de ferramentas de big data e no contexto da teoria de sistemas complexos e (2) investigar se, e como, as evidências disponíveis por meio da análise de big data fundamentam a hipótese de que as línguas naturais têm as características dos sistemas semióticos complexos.

    Perfil do bolsista

    O bolsista deverá ter familiaridade com técnicas de mineração de dados e Big Data nas áreas de Filosofia da Informação, Linguística e Comunicação.

    Inscrições serão aceitas até 08/03/2019 no endereço: humanidades.bigdata@gmail.com.

    Requisitos do/a candidato/a

    a) O candidato deverá ter concluído o doutoramento há menos de 7 (sete) anos;
    b) A bolsa pressupõe dedicação exclusiva ao projeto de pesquisa;
    c) O bolsista não pode ter vínculo empregatício nem poderá receber, durante toda a vigência da bolsa, bolsa de outra entidade, salário ou remuneração decorrente do exercício de atividades de qualquer natureza.

    Os compromissos do bolsista serão estabelecidos por meio de Termo de Outorga. Dentre os compromissos assumidos destacam-se:

    a) Dedicar-se exclusivamente ao projeto de pesquisa;
    b) Não receber bolsa de outra entidade, salário ou remuneração decorrente do exercício de atividades de qualquer natureza (exceto mediante autorização da FAPESP, nas condições previstas na Portaria PR nº 05/2012);
    c) Consultar a FAPESP antes de aceitar qualquer apoio financeiro de qualquer outra fonte de financiamento, pública ou privada, para o desenvolvimento do projeto de pesquisa a que concerne a bolsa concedida;
    d) Não fazer modificações no projeto (plano inicial, datas etc.) sem prévio consentimento da Fundação;
    e) Apresentar relatórios científicos e relatórios de aplicação dos recursos de reserva técnica dentro dos prazos previstos no Termo de Outorga (TO), acompanhados da documentação solicitada;
    f) Criar vínculo com a Instituição localizada no Estado de São Paulo e demonstrar suficiente grau de elevada interação acadêmica com o Orientador/Supervisor e com a comunidade acadêmica da Instituição sede do Projeto;
    g) Não se afastar da instituição em que desenvolve o projeto de pesquisa sem antes obter autorização explícita da FAPESP mediante solicitação justificada apresentada pelo Orientador/Supervisor;
    h) Fazer referência ao apoio da FAPESP nas teses, artigos, livros, resumos de trabalhos apresentados em reuniões e qualquer outra publicação ou forma de divulgação de atividades que resultem, total ou parcialmente, de bolsas ou auxílios apoiados pela Fundação.

    Critérios de seleção

    A seleção será realizada a partir da análise do CV do candidato e de uma entrevista presencial ou online.

    A oportunidade de pós-doutorado está aberta a brasileiros e estrangeiros. O selecionado receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP no valor de R$ 7.373,10 mensais e Reserva Técnica equivalente a 15% do valor anual da bolsa para atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

    In this post-doctoral project, the grantee will participate, with support from the Sao Paulo Research Foundation -- FAPESP, in the Brazilian team for the research project “Understanding opinion dynamics and language evolution using massive data” (T-AP project). Specifically, the grantee will work with the other members of the Brazilian team on the part of the T-AP project that involves research on language evolution by means of “big data” analyses.

    The grantee will bring a knowledge of linguistics and semiotics to the investigation, will assist in the development of computational models of language dynamics, and will investigate the following question: Can big data be used to bring relevant evidence to bear in support of the hypothesis that natural languages have most of the characteristics of complex adaptive systems?

    Objectives

    The main objectives of this research project are (1) to investigate, as part of the Brazilian team of the T-AP project, the development of models in computational social science, specifically models of language dynamics, by means of big data tools and in the context of the theory of complex systems, and (2) to investigate how and if evidence from Big Data analyses support the hypothesis that natural languages have the characteristics of complex semiotic systems.

    Scholarship profile

    The candidate should be trained in data mining and Big Data in the areas of Philosophy of Information, Linguistics and Communication.

    Registrations will be accepted until March 08, 2019 and should be send to: humanidades.bigdata@gmail.com.

    Candidate’s requirements

    a. The candidate should have concluded a doctorate less than seven years before the beginning of the PD fellowship;
    b. The fellowship demands full time dedication to the research project (except under conditions outlined in resolution Portaria PR nº 05/2012);
