• Resumo Summary

  O Instituto de Astronomia, Geofísica e Ciências Atmosféricas da Universidade de São Paulo oferece uma bolsa de Pós-Doutorado com o intuito de investigar o controle da floresta nebular na disponibilidade hídrica, utilizando-se instrumentação automática de campo em dois sítios experimentais no sudeste do Brasil, nas regiões da Serra da Mantiqueira e da Serra do Mar, respectivamente. O trabalho visará em profundidade avaliar a relevância dessas florestas no balanço de água local e regional e sua vulnerabilidade às mudanças climáticas, por meio de ferramentas de modelagem.
  
  Procura-se profissional com título de doutor e conhecimentos de hidrologia e ecologia de florestas tropicais, geoinformática e outras áreas afins, para trabalhar em equipe multidisciplinar. Valoriza-se fundamentalmente a experiência prévia com instrumentação hidrometeorológica de campo em áreas florestais, análise estatística, conhecimento de dinâmica de florestas tropicais, programação computacional de SIG e R ou aplicativos similares, modelagem de distribuição de espécies e modelagem hidrológica.
  
  Bolsa: A oportunidade é aberta a cidadãos de todas as nacionalidades, com título acadêmico de doutor obtido até o início da vigência, e não mais que 7 anos antes desta. O candidato selecionado receberá uma bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP com valor mensal de R$ 6.819,30 durante 24 meses e um adicional equivalente a 15% do valor anual a ser utilizado em itens diretamente relacionados às atividades de pesquisa.   The Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of São Paulo wishes to appoint a Post Doc position with the purpose to investigate the role of the cloud forests in the watershed water balance using automatic field instrumentation at two experimental sites in southeast Brazil, in the montane regions of Serra da Mantiqueira and Serra do Mar, respectively. The work should assess the relevance of these forests in the regional water balance and their vulnerability to climate changes using modelling tools.
  
  We are looking for a motivated researcher with PhD degree and related experiences in Tropical forest hydrology and ecology, Geoinformation science and other related fields, and interested in working in a multidisciplinary team. It is required a background of experience in field hydrometeorological instrumentation in forest environment, statistical analysis, understanding of tropical forest biomass dynamics, programming skills with GIS and R or similar softwares, species distribution modelling and hydrological modelling.
  
  Grant: The opportunity is open to applicants of all nationalities who have PhD completed by the beginning of the fellowship period and not longer than 7 years before that. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Postdoctoral fellowship in a monthly amount of R$ 6,819.30 for 24 months, and a grant equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
