Adriana Benetti Marques Valio

Graduated in Physics from the State University of Campinas (1986), with a Master degree in Astronomy from the University of São Paulo (1989). Also a Master in Astronomy from the University of California at Berkeley (1992), and from the same university, a Phd in Astronomy (UC Berkeley, 1995). Held postdocs at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech - 1995-1997) and State University of Campinas (1997-1999). Obtained the title of “Livre Docente” from the University of São Paulo (2008).

Since 1999, is a professor at Mackenzie Presbyterian University, at the Center for Radio Astronomy and Astrophysics Mackenzie (CRAAM), also acting as the coordinator of the graduate course in Geospatial Sciences and Applications. President of the Brazilian Astronomical Society (SAB) for the biennium 2012-2014, and currently is the treasurer of SAB. Currently holds a research productivity scholarship, 1C level of CNPq.

Has experience in Astronomy, with emphasis on Solar Physics and Stellar Activity, with especial interest on the following topics: solar activity, solar flares, solar atmosphere, extrasolar planets, stellar activity, and stellar spots.
