Karl Heinz Kienitz

Karl Kienitz earned a diploma in Electronics Engineering (1983) and a master's degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering (1985) at the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), Brazil. He holds a PhD (1990) in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (ETHZ). After serving the Brazilian Air Force as an Engineering Officer for more than a decade, he joined ITA’s faculty where he is currently a full professor.

In 1995 Karl Kienitz was Hote Académique of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) and served as Inspector of the United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM). He was a Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany, a visiting researcher of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in 1996/7 and 2004/5, of the Technical University Berlin from December 2012 to February 2013, and of the Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain, from April to July 2023.
