FAPESP and the University of Oxford, UK, commit themselves to encourage academic, scientific and technological cooperation between researchers from Oxford and from the State of São Paulo, Brazil, through the funding of joint research projects.
Areas of interest can be specified in the calls for research proposals. For each research project approved, the University of Oxford will assume the funding of research teams from UK and FAPESP of research teams from the State of São Paulo, in all cases according to their national rules and regulations.
The University of Oxford will contribute up to £12,000 (twelve thousand pounds sterling) per year to fund the collaborative activities approved under this agreement. FAPESP will contribute the equivalent of that sum in Brazilian Reais.
This agreement was signed on January 20, 2015, and shall be valid for five years.
