FAPESP and Agilent issue call for proposals Research in advanced instrumentation and measurement techniques related to metabolomics in plant and microbiology, mass spectrometry or bioenergy will be supported (Agilent)

FAPESP and Agilent Technologies issue a joint call for proposals aiming to identify, select and support world-class research in advanced instrumentation and measurement techniques related to metabolomics in plant and microbiology, mass spectrometry or bioenergy.

Projects should have a very high impact by means of promoting: a) Interesting, creative, and novel work in advanced instrumentation and measurement techniques related to metabolomics in plant and microbiology, mass spectrometry and bioenergy; b) Publication and dissemination of knowledge and experiences to the world-wide academic community.

Proposals should be submitted by researchers from higher education and/or research organizations, public or non-profit, in the State of São Paulo.

Proposals should target some or all of the following research goals: a) Novel and Creative Solutions; b) Immediate Relevance; c) Potential for Economic Impact; d) Dissemination and Potential for Academic Publication; e) Pilot Deployment.

The total amount available under this request for proposals is US$ 400,000.00, with 50% of this value to be provided by FAPESP and 50% by Agilent. It is anticipated that 3-5 proposals will be selected, with individual values in the range of US$75,000 to $150,000.

The selected proposals will be supported up to 36 months. The last date for receiving proposals is November 28, 2011.
