The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR) announce a new call for proposals for research projects in collaboration between scientists from France and scientists from institutions in the State of São Paulo.

The call follows the terms of the cooperation agreement maintained between FAPESP and ANR, and is announced jointly with other funding agencies in the Caribbean region and with the Pernambuco Research Foundation (FACEPE).

For this edition of 2019, the subject of interest is “Sargassum”, the seaweed of the tropical and subtropical seas that strand and accumulate in the beaches, mainly of the islands of the Caribbean basin. Collaborations will be for research, development and innovation.

The submission of the collaborative proposal must be done by the leading researcher until June 4, 2019, through a procedure determined by the ANR. After submission, all participating agencies, including FAPESP, will provide the analysis of eligibility and preliminary qualifications for their respective researchers.

Following the definition of the eligible proposals, scheduled for June 15, 2019, FAPESP will individually communicate the researchers involved to submit their respective aid in the form of Regular Research Assistance through the SAGe. The final result will be announced from September 2019.
