Degree in Physics from the Institute of Physics of Sao Carlos/USP (1993) and Production Materials Engineer from the Federal University of Sao Carlos (1997), master in Applied Physics from the Institute of Physics of Sao Carlos/USP (1995), PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the Institute of Physics of Sao Carlos/USP (1999), and Full Professor (MS6) in Physics from São Paulo State University (UNESP/2018).

Postdoctoral research: University of Windsor in Canada (1999-2001), EMBRAPA/CNPDIA in São Carlos (2001-2002), and University of Valladolid, Spain. FAPESP fellowship in the Young Researchers in Emerging Institutions Program at School of Technology and Applied Sciences (FCT), São Paulo State University (UNESP), campus of Presidente Prudente (2002-2006). Professor at FCT/UNESP since 2004.

Develops research in the area of materials science and solid state physics with emphasis on molecular spectroscopy (FTIR and Raman), fabrication of nanostructured organic films applied to sensors, and mimetic systems of biomembranes.
