Ernesto G. Birgin graduated in Computer Science from the University of Buenos Aires (1995).
Completed his PhD in Applied Mathematics at the State University of Campinas (1998).
Full professor at the University of São Paulo ( 2015). Holds a ‘productivity in research’ grant from CNPq, level 1-B. Acts on the field of Numerical Optimization.
Currently associate editor of the journals Computational Optimization and Applications (2017-), International Transactions on Operational Research (2015-), Journal of Global Optimization (2012-), Computational and Applied Mathematics (2011-), Bulletin of Computational Applied Mathematics (2011-) and Pesquisa Operacional (2011-).
