FAPESP and MIT issue new call for proposals Versão em português

The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) are accepting proposals for the interchange of researchers from the State of São Paulo, Brazil and the USA involving exchange missions. Applications can be made up to September 22, 2014.
The call for proposals is open to researchers working within MIT, following the MIT Brazil Seed Fund Program eligibility criteria and principal investigators of ongoing research projects funded by FAPESP within the following schemes: Regular Research Awards, Thematic Projects (Principal or Co-Principal Investigators), Young Investigators, or Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers (CEPID/RIDC; PIs or co-PIs).
The Call for Proposals invites research proposals in all disciplines. The exchanged activities foreseen in this project must be carried out within the timeframe starting from January 2015 through August 2016.
FAPESP and MIT will provide combined funding of up to US$30.000 per project (US$20.000 for researchers and postdocs and US$10.000 for graduate and undergraduate students), for the period established in the award, necessarily and exclusively to cover mobility expenses (travel costs and living allowances).
The proposals must be submitted simultaneously to FAPESP by the researcher from the State of São Paulo and to MIT by his/her collaborator from USA. Each Party will select the proposals according to its own procedures. Only the proposals selected by both Parties will be jointly funded.
