FAPESP and the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science (MPG), in Germany, announce a new call for proposals to foster scientific collaboration within the scope of basic research, covering all knowledge areas. This is the fourth call for proposals issued in the timeline of the cooperation agreement firmed between the institutions.

Each proposal should have two principal investigators – one affiliated to a São Paulo State higher education or research institution, and the other linked to one of the 84 Max Planck Institutes (MPIs). Development of project will take place both in the State of São Paulo and inside a MPI in Germany. Exceptionally in the case of this call, the project will be valid for 36 months.

Proposals must be submitted by December 2nd, 2019 through SAGe (www.fapesp.br/sage), FAPESP’s online submission platform. However, principal investigators must first consult their parts about their eligibility by November 12th. On one hand, the São Paulo State PI must reach FAPESP through SAGe; on the other, German PIs must have a letter of institutional commitment (see annex in the call’s text) signed by a MPI Director

Applications must be submitted to FAPESP under the scheme of its Regular Research Grant. Exceptions are detailed in the call’s text.

The deadline for proposals submission is December 2, 2019, through the SAGe platform. The MPI Principal Investigator must be registered at the SAGe platform before been able to be chosen as the partner researcher in the proposal.

The call for proposals is available at www.fapesp.br/en/13608.
