Marcelo Carnier Dornelas

Marcelo C. Dornelas is graduated in Agronomic Engineering (University of São Paulo, 1992), with Masters in Genetics and Plant Breeding (University of São Paulo, 1995) and PhD in Plant cellular and Molecular Biology (University of Paris XI, Paris-Sud, France, 1999).

After two post-docs at the University of São Paulo (2000-2002 and 2002-2004), got enrolled as a Professor at the Biology Institute (IB) with the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2005, being tenured in 2010 and is a full Professor since 2016.

Prof. Dornelas coordinated the Plant Biology Graduate Program of IB/UNICAMP (2012-2014) and was a General Coordinator of Graduate Programs of IB/UNICAMP from 2015-2018.

His research deals with Molecular Biology of Plant development, with focus on molecular physiology of flowering, plant reproduction and evolution of molecular mechanisms involved in plant development.
